Announcing a major change concerning how I sell my artwork.
With few exceptions I no longer have any galleries or shops acting as direct
representatives for my work and am doing everything between my family and myself. Because
of this I am reducing my prices so that my clients can save the margin between my price
and what was a gallery price which was up to 50%. There are a number of reasons for this
change but the main one is that since I am older now I want to know my clients better.
With the gallery system I was seldom even able to know who owned my work or where it ended
up being displayed. This might be fine in the world of product marketing such as Wal-Mart
or some department store but I do not feel it is appropriate for myself as an artist any
longer.
